23And Joseph saw Ephraim’s children aof the third generation. The bchildren also of Machir the son of Manasseh were ccounted as Joseph’s own.

Numbers 26:29

29 eThe sons of Manasseh: of fMachir, the clan of the Machirites; and Machir was the father of Gilead; gof Gilead, the clan of the Gileadites.

Numbers 32:39-40

39And the sons of hMachir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and captured it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it. 40And Moses igave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he settled in it.

Joshua 17:1-3

1Then allotment was made to the people of Manasseh, for he was jthe firstborn of Joseph. To kMachir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, lwere allotted Gilead and Bashan, because he was a man of war. 2And allotments were made mto the rest of the people of Manasseh by their clans, Abiezer, Helek, Asriel, Shechem, Hepher, and Shemida. These were the male descendants of Manasseh the son of Joseph, by their clans.

3Now nZelophehad the son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, had no sons, but only daughters, and these are the names of his daughters: oMahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
